Hello Colorful Friends:
A quick shout-out that I have finally gotten my act together to update my webshop with over 30 pieces of my handmade pottery. Here’s a little preview of some mugs showing fronts and backs against one of the blankets I made from my knitwear swatches from year’s past.
Talk about being consistent. My knitwear mis-match style goes right along with my current ceramics.
I’m telling you - this shop update was a struggle. More about that at the end of the email if you are at all interested….. It’s all a bit tech-y and I am so not qualified to be doing all of this.
All the new pieces are now on-line and marked “Coming Soon”. At 9 p.m. - that’s 4 hours from now - I’ll be “throwing the switch” to update them to For Sale. Have a poke around if you like. I can’t guarantee they will make it by Christmas as that situation will be out of my hands and in the hands of the USPS. If you want me to hold your package til after the holidays, just add a note to the order and I will ship later.
Lots of new mugs, big and small platters, some wall vases and regular vases. I love to think about you all knitting next to a cozy winter fire — sipping tea, coffee or hot chocolate out of one of my mugs.
Thank you all for reading and for your support of my work. Whether you purchase or not - I value your reading, subscribing, and comments. I’ll have one more newsletter coming out next week before the holiday with a bit of a holiday theme.
Yours in color and creativity.
P.S. About the digital struggle…… Somehow I didn’t realize it but newer Iphones now save files as something called a HEIC - not jpgs or pngs. (Seriously - when did that happen?????) I used to take all my product photos with my DSLR but because my Iphone takes amazing photos, I switched to using it for product shots a couple years ago. I’ve done this for at least 2 years and never had a problem with the photo files. Last night when I went to upload the edited, cropped photos from my phone, they just wouldn’t go up. They wouldn’t even transmit from phone to my email account so I could open them on my computer. Of course, I discovered this last night when I thought I would be sailing to a quick shop update.
After lots of googling and frustration and not understanding the different directions the web was giving me (chrome extensions, hello?), I finally figured out how to change a HEIC to a JPG in Photoshop Elements so I could update my webshop. Let’s say, I’m too old to be staying up until 3 a.m. but that’s what happened.
Sooooo, after working all day today, I’ve got my website all set to go. See you there at 9 p.m. if you would like to purchase some of my handmade pottery.
And thank you.
