Popping into your inbox today to wish you a joyous holiday season. I want to thank you all for reading this year and for many of you - for years past. Thank you for your support of my art and our life here on our farm.

We are coming up to lambing season and the ewes bellies are beginning to bloom. Many years we have had a lamb or two by Christmas but not this year. Instead of lambs, I give you kittens who have just left the farm for their new home. The Christmas tree will stand!

• I listened to this fascinating podcast from Long Thread Media the other day when I was cleaning up the kitchen. The guest is Irene Waggener who calls herself a Knitting Researcher. Irene has studied historic and ethnographic knitting by living in Morocco and Armenia and documenting the people and cultures that made/make beautiful, functional knitwear.

• Beyond Bloomsbury is one of my favorite Substack Newsletters. I love this post featuring Christmas focused paintings by artists. Here’s a fun one…..

• Harald Altmaier has been a florist for years. His photographs are truly “the most exquisite floral photographs you will ever see.” a work of art. Check them out here.

• It seems that this time of year is all about the sweet things. At some point, my body gets overwhelmed and needs a good break. I love this Cabbage and Chicken Salad from Bon Appetit inspired by Philadelphia’s The Frog Commissary Restaurant.
