Holiday Open House this Weekend
Hello Colorful Friends!
The holiday season is in full swing here at Leyden Glen Farm. We had a lovely Thanksgiving holiday with my family. We were lucky to have my Mom here for several days and it was so great to spend that time with her. Thanksgiving is now a done deal and we are moving onto the holiday season.
This weekend is our 4th Annual Holiday Open House. Here you can see our dining room table - it is a holiday mash-up for sure. Thanksgiving centerpieces and piles of Christmas lights and sparkly things that need to be put out to turn our farmhouse into a sparkly winter wonderland.
Julia and I have been busy elves. I have been working non-stop on my ceramics. Julia has been making pom poms and has designed some new colorways..... and I thought she hasn't been paying attention all these years. Here is our workshop. What a sight.
Here is a table full of new ceramic pieces - mostly vases in this kiln load. My kiln is firing again with another full load of vases, platters, and mugs. Fingers crossed it will all be done in time.
I will also be selling my books, notecards, crewel embroidery supplies and even some yarn.
My friends Gail Callahan - aka The Kangaroo Dyer, Deborah Garner and Alicia Blaze Hunsicker are also busy at work producing hand dyed silks, yarns, jewelry, textiles and holiday ornaments. Here are some previews of their work.
The kitchen will be abuzz with activity, snacks and sweets. There will even be a lamb tagine for sampling. Our farm raised lamb will be for sale for holiday meals.
It's going to be a fun weekend and I hope some of you will be able to make it. Here are the directions to the farm. We are also on Google maps under Leyden Glen Lamb for those of you using GPS.
Bring a friend, your Mom or the family. There will be something for everyone.
And for all you cat lovers - we have a new batch of kittens that you might get to cuddle if you are lucky.
Sorry there are no links today. I've been too busy to spend any time on the internet. Next time - I promise.
Hope to see you here this weekend.
Yours in color and creativity,
Kristin Nicholas
