New Date for Creative Retreat at our Farm
Hello Colorful Friends:
Lilac season here at the farm is almost over. Next up, is lady's mantle, lambs ears, and peonies. Oh how I love the beginning of summer. This coming weekend is Memorial Day - the unofficial start to the summer season. Before we know it, July 4th will be here.
Next Saturday June 2nd, I will be appearing at Webs in Northampton from 2 to 4 p.m. I will have many of the projects from my new book Crafting A Patterned Home. They like to have folks register so they know what to expect. You can do that here. I will be on the Webs podcast with Kathy Elkins tomorrow. You can listen to it here when the show goes live on Saturday
I am looking forward to the students arriving for this season's Creative Retreats. I have had to change the date of the Decorative Furniture Painting/Fabric Printing to August 11/12. My husband Mark is having surgery to have his hip replaced in mid-July. Below are the new dates for the retreats.
If you only want to come for ONE of the days, those options are now open. The cost is $199. and includes most supplies, snacks, lunch, and beverages. Hop on over to my website here to check out what I am offering.
To sign up for the ONE DAY CLASS OPTIONS, scroll to the bottom of the Classes page and sign up there. If you don't do Paypal, email me and we can set-up payment by credit card or check.

My new book Crafting A Patterned Home is getting out in the world. Thus far, it has been reviewed on Design New England here, Mason-Dixon Knitting here, Apartment Therapy here, and Jules Madden blog here. I was a guest blogger on the Spoonflower blog here. In print, it was reviewed in the Spring issue of Vogue Knitting and Yarn Market News. Fingers crossed it gets out there a little more. Thanks to all who have Instagrammed it, written a review on Amazon, or shared it with their friends or librarians.
Thank you all who have ordered directly from me. You can still order Crafting A Patterned Home directly from me on my website and I will throw in some fun freebies plus free freight. Here's how you order:
You can order over on my website here.
You can also order on my Etsy Shop here.
Here are some interesting things I found on the web this week:
• I am trying to get to the Sacred Ukrainian Textile Exhibit at the Museum of Russian Icons in Clinton, Mass. Info here. Exhibit runs til June 2nd. I hope I can see it as it is right down my alley.
• Loved this podcast with Gunjan Aylawadi who does amazing paper weaving that looks like textiles.
• Check out this Animal Alphabet creative video. Awesome.
• These photos of a camp in the desert. Ooooh - the textiles and the camels and their saddles.
• Colorful patchwork tile in a garden in Vietnam.
• Kaffe and Candace's new exhibit in Bath. Wish I was closer.
Lastly, you have probably been inundated with messages about the new EU data protection law. If you are no longer interested in reading about my creative life, our sheep farm here in western Massachusetts and learning about fascinating things I find on the web, click the unsubscribe button below and you won't receive emails from me in the future. However if you would like to continue to receive these emails from me. you don't have to do anything.
For those of you in the US, have a great Memorial Day Weekend. I hope to see some of you here at the farm this summer.
Yours in color and creativity,
Kristin Nicholas

A fun video of our farm, our farmhouse, and my family. Our farm is located 2 hours from Boston and 3 1/2 hours from NYC. We are at the northern most part of western Massachusetts bordering Vermont. Our farm is 15 minutes off of Route 91, the north/south highway connecting Montreal to NYC.
