Announcing 2018 Creative Retreats at Leyden Glen Farm
Hello Colorful Friends:
Big news today! I have officially posted the Creative Retreats at Leyden Glen Farm that I have planned for 2018 on my website today. I hope you will hop on over and take a look at what I am offering. There is a lot of information to read so take your time.
There are 3 weekend long retreats. They are:
--July 21/22 - Decorative Furniture Painting and Fabric Printing
--July 28/28 - Fabric Printing, Decorative Embroidery and Ceramic Tile Design
--September 22/23 - Color and Embroidery for Knitters and Crazy Quilt Swatch Afghan
I hope you will come to the farm, enjoy the garden, the scenery, our colorful farmhouse and good food while immersing yourself in a creative, warm and friendly atmosphere with a very small number of students. This year's classes are quite varied and will be packed with excellent information that you will be able to take away and practice on your own. See the photos below for techniques and projects I am offering. Beginners are welcome and encouraged! This is a very friendly atmosphere and my teaching style is one of encouragement and "you can do no wrong."
I'm excited to be adding one new class. In July, I am offering Decorative Furniture Painting. The idea for this class came from last year's students. It is limited to 6 students due to space issues in my studio. See the photo below.
Watch a video about our farm at the end of this email. Our farm is located 2 hours from Boston and 3 1/2 hours from NYC. We are at the northern most part of western Massachusetts bordering Vermont. Our farm is 15 minutes off of Route 91, the north/south highway connecting Montreal to NYC.
If you have any questions about the retreats, please contact me at kristinnicholas@gmail.com.
In Crafting The Patterned Home BOOK NEWS, I want to take this newsletter to thank you all for the book orders. I have sold 200 books thus far. My goal is to hit 500 books which seems pretty impossible but my readers do come through. Thank you. You can order Crafting A Patterned Home on my website and I will throw in some fun freebies plus free freight.
The official Publication Date of Crafting A Patterned Home was this past Tuesday April 10th. It is so exciting to see it going out in the world. I look forward to feedback from readers.
Here's how you order:
You can order over on my website here.
You can also order on my Etsy Shop here.
And because so many of you love to read links, here are some things I found on the web this week:
• Here is a sweet little cabin in the woods of Vermont. I would need some plumbing but otherwise - adorable.
• I love this interview with the founders of the British Interiors company House of Hackney. Lovely photos of their stylish home. Their line is now available at Liberty of London.
• Sandals with pom poms anyone? Here is a great DIY.
• These cushions are to die for.
• Yum - chocolate pots de creme. I need to try this recipe.
• This yellow kitchen. Gorgeous.
Any questions about the retreats, gladly answered. Send them to kristinnicholas@gmail.com
Yours in color and creativity,
Kristin Nicholas
