Leg of Lamb for Easter and Passover
Hello Lamb Friends:
Just a quick note to you all to let you know that although we are not attending any local Farmers Markets this weekend, you can still pick up a beautiful half leg of lamb from Leyden Glen Farm. We have made deliveries of half legs to Simple Gifts Farm Store and Greenfields Market. The photo below is from Simple Gifts Instagram feed.
We are at an odd spot in the Farmers Market year. There are no weekend markets to attend and we are catching our breath before the outdoor markets open again in late April.
Winter has been long and everyone is awaiting spring with anticipation. I just watched a video from Rick Steeves about the European Easter traditions. I have included it below beginning at a segment late in the program that shows how Greek families and villages celebrate Easter. Lamb plays an important part in different religions throughout the world. We are blessed to be part of the tradition of supplying our farm raised lamb for family holiday meals.
Check out this page on our website for my favorite ways to cook legs of lamb.
You can always pick up a beautiful leg of lamb at our self-serve farm store. Directions here. A heads-up is appreciated so that the freezer will be stocked with what you need.
Wishing you all the best in this festive holiday season,
