A New location for the Amherst Winter Farmers Market
Hello Friends of Leyden Glen Farm -
I'm popping into your inbox to tell you that I have developed a new recipe for our delicious lamb. It has been a while coming - life is busy and I never seem to have a day to devote to cooking, photographing, typing, uploading, formatting......
What is it you ask? It is Coconut Lamb Curry with Winter Veggies and Greens. This stew is perfect for the cold winter season. The curry and ginger spices will warm you and the coconut adds a delicious note to the stew. I serve it atop a scoop of rice. Or pick up some naan to sop up the delicious sauce. Here is the link to the recipe. I'll have printed copies at the market Saturday.
Stop by the Amherst Winter Farmers Market in its new location at the Hampshire Mall just outside Target. If you haven't been there yet, you will be happily surprised. The hallway is full of farmers, veggies, bakers, craftspeople, and interesting "tablers." I will have printed recipes for you to take home and you can pick up all the veggies you will need for this new recipe.
Can't get to the Mall? You can find our lamb at Greenfields Market, McCusker's Market, Atlas Farm Store and Simple Gifts (new) Farmstore. Our lamb is also on the menu at Hope and Olive.
Do you follow people on Instagram? We post photos of our sheep and lambs on Kristin's account almost daily. Follow her here @kristinnicholas. Would you like to follow other sheep farmers too? Check out @herdyshepherd here. He is James Rebanks who is also the author of two books about sheep farming - The Shepherd's Life and The Shepherd's View.
Lambing is still happening here at Leyden Glen Farm. Here's a link to a short video from our lambing barns.
Have a great weekend and hope to see you at the market soon,
Mark, Kristin, and Julia
