Happy Thanksgiving
Hello Colorful Friends!
Popping into your inbox this Monday to wish all of you in the USA a Happy Thanksgiving. Without all of you who read my newsletter and/or my blog Getting Stitched on the Farm, I would be lost. Your kind words, clicks, and comments keep me creating. Working on my own as an author and artist gives me lots of time to think. I often spend my days thinking about what I can make to inspire you or fill one of your creative urges. All winter long, I think about what classes I might host in the warmer months that will be inspiring. As we head into the holiday season, I wish you the joy of creativity. And I thank you for supporting my creative work and my family here at Leyden Glen Farm.
This holiday is my very favorite of the year. That could be because it centers around food and I love to cook and eat. THis year, we will be welcoming my sisters and their families and my Mom. I'll be cooking up two turkeys, Mom will be making an apple pie, and Julia will make something chocolate. We have tried to make the holiday easy by all pitching in with a dish or two. The emails have been flying around and I think we have the meal planned. Hopefully we will take a hayride up our steep hill if we can get the haywagon fixed.
A quick reminder to those of you who are local that our 3rd Annual Holiday Open House is coming up on December 2/3. It would be great to see you here at the farm. Bring a friend or your family. Kids love seeing the dogs and the sheep. My friends Gail (aka The Kangaroo Dyer) and Deborah Garner - are joining me with their beautiful silks, yarns, textiles and jewelry. My daughter Julia will be selling Christmas ornaments.
Directions to the farm are here. If you have questions, respond to this email. Bring a cooler if you are a fan of lamb and pick up some of our pasture raised lamb for holiday meals.
I know many of you live far from here so you won't be able to get to the Holiday Open House here at our farm in western Massachusetts. No worries - I will be listing the remaining pottery and tea towels on my Etsy store in early December.
Here are some fun links for you to explore today.....
