Come to our 3rd Annual Holiday Open House

Hello Friends of Leyden Glen Farm -

Thank you all for the support you have given our farm and all the other farmers during the 2017 season at the Amherst Common Farmers Market. This Saturday will be the last market of the season. Come and stock up on our farm raised lamb from 8:00 to 1:30.

This week on the farm, we had our annual sheep shearing. Three blade shearers (that's right - no electric shears just clip, clip, clip) spent all day Monday and Tuesday freeing the ewes and rams of their fleeces. They left a bit of wool to keep the sheep warm and it will grow fast. A short video follows. I wrote about the shearing here on my blog and posted lots of photos.

We are having our 3rd Annual Holiday Open House on December 2 and 3 from 10 to 4. Travel to beautiful Leyden, tour our colorful farmhouse, meet the sheep and sheep dogs and start your holiday season off with a bit of country charm. I will be selling my handmade pottery, books, Julia made Christmas ornaments and we will have special guests. Pick up some of our farm raised lamb for special holiday meals. Directions here.
