Still Some Openings for July Creative Retreats!

Hello Colorful Friends!

Happy 4th of July to all of you who live in the USA! Hope you are finding time to spend with your family and friends. And I hope you are enjoying the long summer days.

Mark (aka The Farmer) and I just celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary. Gee - where did the time go? And we have been raising sheep for 37 years. I recently found this photo of our first four sheep and our little shelter dog Haida. There have been many sheep and dogs since then but these creatures but these have a special place in our hearts.

After Julia graduated from High School a few weeks ago, she and I headed off to an island in Maine to visit a friend. I wrote about the trip here on my blog. The header of this email is a gouache painting I began on our trip.

Last year, I spent the better part of it working on projects for my upcoming 2018 book Crafting A Patterned Home. I posted project shots on Instagram with the hashtag #craftingapatternedhome. This year I'm enjoying the fruits of my labor -- my new Pottery Studio. It's great to have a "dirty space" that I don't feel worried about getting clay all over my fabrics and yarns. This photo shows some of the new mugs I have been making. They still have a ways to go but at least I have begun.

I'm gearing up for the upcoming Creative Retreats here at our farm. It's not too late to sign up for a fun and creative weekend or single day of creating. Sure would like to meet you here at our place. More info below.

There are 3 weekend long retreats. This year, for the first time, each day is also available as a single day retreat.

Paint Your Own Lampshade: July 16, 2017 - Sunday - 6 spaces available - this is a very fun project. My house is covered with colorful lampshades like these.

Ceramic Tile Surface Design: July 31, 2016 - Sunday - 1 spaces available

Color + Embroidery for Knitters: September 23 - Saturday - 3 spaces available
