OPEN HOUSE DECEMBER 3/4 2016

Hello Colorful Friends!
First off - want to let you all know that we are having our Second Holiday Open House. Dates are December 3rd and 4th here at our farm in Leyden. Directions here. Wanted to let you all know since I know some of you came from far away last year and might want to plan a trip to New England. More info to come in coming weeks.
Next Saturday November 12th, I will be participating in a local author day at Webs Yarn Store in Northampton. Here's the link for more info. The event is free. I will be bringing sample projects and our farm raised Leyden Glen Lamb too. Feel free to contact me by responding to this email if you would like me to bring something special for a holiday meal.
So - I did it - I got the first draft of my next book manuscript done! Oh, I am happy. A very good feeling. I am not done though. The process will most likely go on for at least 6 more months. Re-writing I'm sure. Two more photo shoots scheduled - one this week and one in December. After that, there will be editing, re-writing, and illustrations. It is a very long process that most people don't know about. The book will not come out until 2018. Man - that seems so far away! But at least one hurdle is over.
Here are some interesting things I have found over the past couple weeks.
• You shouldn't miss this. Gorgeous house in the UK. And go to the end. The cutest wool felted dogs.
• A recipe for Pumpkin Jam by David Lebovitz. Sounds intriguing. And lamb with hummus. Must try.
• These photos by photographer Karen Knorr blend the patterned handmade interiors of Northern India with incredible wild animals. Stunning.
• Do you love embroidery but wonder what else you can do with it besides pillows and framed pieces? Here is a great idea - an embroidered bunting.
• Do you have an ugly vinyl tile floor that you would love to change but don't have the cash? Check out this solution - GORGEOUS.
• Look at these beautiful dark and exotic wallpapers and interior accessories.
• It has gotten cold and wintry feeling. I love these fuzzy winter coats.
• How about a lamb side table?
• I have travelled in the UK quite a bit but do not think I will get there anytime soon. In this lovely post I saw some gorgeous country homes. Thank you "A Decorative Affair."
• I need to watch this movie about a woman artist who is really hitting her stride at 100.
Hope to see some of you in December. More on it to come soon.
Yours in color and creativity,

Kristin Nicholas

It's not too early to think about knitting some Christmas Stockings. Check out my colorful patterns here and here.

A fun video of our farm, our farmhouse, and my family. A good preview for sure if you are thinking of coming to our Open House December 3/4
