Kristin's Pom Pom Garland Video Tutorial
Hello Colorful Friends:
It is November 1st! Tell me - where has 2015 gone? It is alarming how fast time goes, isn't it? Here at the farm, the leaves are almost gone - only the oaks and the beeches are hanging onto their vegetation. Mark is working on haying his very last field of hay for winter feed for the sheep. The sheep are still out grazing the last of the green grass. Breeding season is pretty much done and we will begin lambing in early January if all goes to plan.
I am back from my quick trip to Madison, WI to speak and teach at the Madison Knitting Guild. Over 300 people attended my evening talk - WOW! It was overwhelming! So nice to meet so many knitters and stitchers. Thanks MKG for inviting me.
My family, our Leyden Glen Farm and I have been featured in the International Series called World of Design on the Houzz.com website. It is very exciting for our little farm to be featured in the Houzz newsletters that goes out to 22 different countries. Very cool. Check out the feature called World of Design: See How 9 Families Live and Farm On Their Land.
I just filmed and edited a new YouTube video called Pom Pom Garland Tutorial. It is available on my YouTube Channel here. While you are there, subscribe to my Channel and you will receive notice of any new videos I post. I have embedded it into this email too.
This month in the studio I am busy, busy, busy making pottery to sell for the holidays in My Art and Pottery Etsy shop. As I write this, the kiln is firing some new additions. If you "Favorite" my shop, you will be one of the first to know when I list new work for sale. The oil paintings in my header are some of my latest artwork that I have for sale in my Etsy shop. I also have colorful lampshades in the shop.
What are you knitting? I am knitting two new Christmas Stockings for some little people. I'm combining my two Creative and Colorful Stocking Designs and using bits of both. Here's what I have so far. Link to the patterns further on in the email.

This week, I've stumbled onto the following interesting things that you might like to look at too:
• I love these notes a Dad sent to school when his kids were tardy. So creative.
• Can you imagine being in the middle of Madrid, Spain when thousands of sheep begin crowding the streets? It happens! Check it out here.
• My friend Tamson has told me about a sheep farm on the Isle of Auskerry off the Shetland Isles? She is making a sweater with yarn from these sheep. Cool.
• Nancy Nicholson is a fellow embroidery designer from the UK. She has a pretty Christmas Ornament PDF pattern for sale on her website. Check it out here.
• If Julia was younger, I would purchase these charming Paper Dolls by artists Phoebe Wahl. A complete farm and family. So cute.
• I love this Sheep Dessert Plate by British Artist Holly Frean being sold on the Anthropologie website.
• It is winter squash season and I have 6 beauties stockpiled for this winter. Last night I made this delicious Butternut Squash Pasta from the Cookbooks 365 website. It was really easy. The recipe comes from Alana Chernila's new cookbook called The Homemade Kitchen. Check out her blog here.
• There is a new film that is playing in selected theaters in the UK called Addicted to Sheep. I hope it will be available in the USA or for streaming soon. Looks fantastic. Check out the trailer here.
