Crafting A Colorful Home - coming January 20th
Happy New Year Colorful Friends!
I have some exciting news for you all. I'm starting the New Year of 2015 off with a brand new book. Here it is - coming January 20, 2015 - Crafting a Colorful Home: A Room-By-Room Guide to Personalizing Your Space with Color. It is being published by Roost Books (a division of Shambala). Roost also published the re-print/re-design of Colorful Stitchery. Here is the cover.
You can see one of the projects on the header above - a colorful stamped tablecloth. Hop on over to my website for more about the book and projects. The photos were taken by the talented Rikki Snyder, the photographer who took the photos of our farmhouse that were featured on the Houzz.com website in 2012.
This week on my blog "Getting Stitched on the Farm" I wrote 2 posts about the launch of the book. The first post introduces you to the book, tells how it came to be and offers my readers a special offer. The second post - called How a Book is Made - gives you the background information as to how this book (any many others) is made and my part in it as an author.
I am happy to offer you, my newsletter readers, a special offer when you purchase Crafting a Colorful Home directly from me.
• FREE SHIPPING
• A SPECIAL BOOKPLATE FOR MOUNTING IN YOUR COPY
• A SET OF 5 assorted Kristin Nicholas postcards
Here is the choice of bookplates I painted just for you all, my special readers. Choose either the Floral Design or the House Design. Leave a note in the comments section of the order with your choice or I can choose for you. Also, tell me to whom you would like the book inscribed, otherwise I will sign it generically.
When you read my post How a Book is Made, you will see how important it is for me and my family to sell copies of this book direct to my readers. I hope you will consider purchasing your copy from me after you read the article. If you ever wonder if it really helps an author out by buying a book directly from them, then check out my post.
Hop on over to my website to order your very own signed copy of Crafting A Colorful Home with free shipping and the freebies mentioned above. If you are an overseas customer, order through my Etsy shop which is set up to take foreign shipping ($25.00 freight charge). European customers - Crafting a Colorful Home is available in the EU through Amazon also if you do not want to pay the exhorbitant freight charge that it costs me to ship a book overseas - pub date February 20th.
We are in the second week into lambing here at the farm. Lots of little ones, first time mamas, and all the regular work that goes with raising sheep. There have been a few in the kitchen which is just a normal happening in January at the farm. I'll be posting photos on my Instagram/Facebook/Twitter accounts and uploading some to the blog as lambing progress.
Here are some interesting things I learned this week on the web:
• The new season of Knit and Crochet Now, the PBS tv show I am an expert on, will begin airing on PBS stations. Here is some information about it.
• Look at this fun lampshade that blogger Adaliza made. I have been following her a long time and she is fabulous quilter and crocheter.
• The English Tea Store is having a sale on Christmas Crackers here. Our family loves these festive additions to the Christmas Day Dinner.
• David Lebovitz has a classic hearty winter recipe for Pork and Beans. I have some ham hocks from the farmers market in my freezer and I think I will make it. I love that turquoise casserole he photographed. What about you?
• On the lighter side, this Ginger Miso Soup with Turnips looks delicious.
Thanks for reading and here is to a fantastic 2015 for you and yours!
Yours in Color,
Kristin Nicholas
