Kristin Nicholas' Handknitting Christmas Stocking Patterns
Good Evening Knitting and Stitching Friends -
Tonight I am jumping the turkey. I know, I know. It is too early for the whole holiday hoopla. Julia has started playing Christmas music much to my chagrin. I might as well go with it though because she is 16 and who knows how long I will have her living with us.
For we knitters and stitchers, the holiday starts early if we are gift makers. I know many knitters who like to make a Christmas stocking for new babes in their lives. Tonight I want to remind you about my two Christmas Stocking Collections.
For you first timers to Christmas Stockings, I have a collection of five stockings called Kristin's Colorful Christmas Stockings. Although these stockings are very colorful - the concept behind my designs was that I didn't want knitters to have to knit with two colors in a row or round. I know how fearful many knitters are of stranded knitting (sometimes called Fair Isle). This collection includes 5 different designs and you will only have to knit one color at a time BUT you will end up with a very colorful and decorative stocking. Read more about each of the stocking designs on the links that follow: here - Nov 7 '13, here - Nov 8 '13, here - nov 6 '13, here - nov 5 '13, here - nov 4 '13.
You can buy Kristin's Colorful Christmas Stocking PDF on my website here or on Ravelry here.
The second collection is called Kristin's Creative Christmas Stockings. It includes 6 different stocking patterns - each pattern is sized in 4 different sizes. I have also included many extra charts for you to use to "design your very own" stocking. This pattern is a bit more of what I think of as the traditional knit stocking because of the Fair Isle technique and the small motifs.

Now for some fun links I have discovered this week.....
• I am in love with Illustrator Emily Sutton's work. Her prints are available on St. Jude's but unfortunately a bit out of my range. She has a range of cards but they do not seem to be available in the US. Check out her gorgeous cards here.
• Found this very cool garden shed/studio/recording studio via Houzz.com. Very inspirational.
• I llike this post about the turn of the seasons and aging by Dominique Browning.
• This temporary tattoo by Tattly might be a fun little gift for cat and yarn lovers.
• If you are hosting Thanksgiving this year, you might want to read this post by Lisa Borgnes Giramonti (who also happens to be an embroiderer).
That's it for today. Read on below for some of my products you might be interested in for the upcoming holidays.
Happy stitching and knitting friends,
Kristin Nicholas
