Thank You from Kristin + More World Knits PDF's
Hello Colorful Friends!
Oh wow! I need to thank all the knitters who have supported the release of The World Knits Collection. It has been so much fun to watch the names come in as people purchase patterns. I recognize so many of them from past book sales, students from classes and emails. It is lovely to think that I still have a knitting following and I thank all of you for your support in getting the word out about the The World Knits Collection PDF patterns.
This week on the blog, I have been writing about four of the World Knits Collection designs. You can also see photos of them below along with links to purchase the patterns.
Magical Mocassins Marvelous Mukluks
Magnificent Mittens Moroccan Fedoras
I've been giving the back-story to the designs and letting readers in on different behind the scenes to the collection. This project carried on over four years. As I have been looking back, I have been flooded with memories of my past life and all the wonderful people I have met over the years. Thank you so much for supporting my work in the past and the present as I have danced back and forth between all my creative interests.
If you plan to order any of the PDFs and want to keep them in your Ravelry library, make sure you order via my Ravelry Store here. It really doesn't matter one bit to me if you order via Ravelry or my website. I have the patterns in both places as a matter of convenience for you all. See the photos at the end of this email for links to this week's four featured patterns and blog posts and where to purchase.
We are up to 50 lambs so far. Lambing hasn't been as fast and furious as it has been in the past. Our twinning rate is 162% which is remarkable for our farm. We aren't sure why the ewes are later and why there are more twins but then every year is different. We have a lot of ewe lambs who will be late to give birth -- if they even do this year. Here's a nice photo of a lamb and its mama just after it got up on its feet.
Here are some good links I have discovered.
• A one minute video of the lambs in our barns. Sound on for baaaaahs.
• This post by Rhonda about why she is getting rid of her micro-fiber cleaning cloths. So much mind-blowing info in this post.
• 90 year old Margaret Seaman is a knitting rockstar. Check out her project in this 4 minute video.
• This TED talk by Ken Robinson echoes many of my thoughts on kids and creativity. It has been viewed over 63 million times! (19 minutes)
• If you are planning on making any of my Marvelous Mukluks or Magical Mocassins, this Etsy site has some very nice felt, non-slip colorful slipper sock bottoms and they ship to the USA for free.
• This is an interesting video (8 minutes) about knitwear designer Angela Tong (via Vimeo).
• Marthe Armitage is a wallpaper designer working in linocut printing and she is 93 years young. Check out her work here. I love her "Gardeners" wallpaper.
If you live in the USA, you might be knitting during the Big Game. I will be too. I'm making myself a Moroccan Fedora. I'll post photos on my Instagram feed.
Happy February everyone! How did January slip by so fast?
Yours in color and creativity,
Kristin Nicholas

Here is a video of my Talk at Google. I went to Cambridge, Massachusetts and spoke at their offices there in late June.
A fun video of our farm, our farmhouse, and my family. Our farm is located 2 hours from Boston and 3 1/2 hours from NYC. We are at the northern most part of western Massachusetts bordering Vermont. Our farm is 15 minutes off of Route 91, the north/south highway connecting Montreal to NYC.
