The sheep moving out onto spring grass
Hello Friends from Leyden Glen Farm!
Quick note this morning as we are off to the Amherst Farmers Market and hope to see some of you there.
There is a recipe I have been making that I have been meaning to share. It is called Lahmacun and it is a traditional Turkish Pizza made with spiced lamb. We have been enjoying it here at the farm on pizza shells from Berkshire Mountain Bread which is next to us at the Amherst Market.
Although I don't have an official Leyden Glen Farm Lahmacun recipe yet, I will point you to this one on the web. I have made a similar version but add cumin and cinnamon to the ground lamb mixture. I also add some feta cheese on the top.
Hope to see you this morning at the market. Here is a photo of the sheep hanging out next to the portable fencing unit behind my pottery shed. They rest all day and graze all night.
As always, we thank you for the support of our farm and family.
Your shepherds,
Mark, Kristin and Julia
